In 1992 Tecdia recognized the need to outsource labor intensive manufacturing from Japan to a foreign location that could provide the skills and infrastructure it needed at a cost that would keep its products competitive in the world markets. After consulting with some of our Japanese major OEM customers who were interested in using an offshore manufacturing facility that would be established and run by the owners of Tecdia, a decision was made to establish a contract manufacturing service company in the Philippines for our own needs and to offer services to others needing to outsource. This gave birth to Cebu Microelectronics, Inc. or CMI, which combines the talents and economy of a Filipino workforce with the experience and training of Japanese managers and technical staff. A combination that’s hard to beat.
